THE BOOMERANG SONG
A father took his son to the top of the hill
he threw a boomerang out, to make a kill
The son said "Daddy, won't it come back?"
Father said, "Son, don't you worry 'bout that."
For many years he threw his boomerangs high
Until a couple reappeared in the New York sky.
They cut off his head and they cut off his feet
And black and white turned grey in the street
There were howling voices and gnashing teeth.
Meanwhile, the son's gang's back at the Ranch
"In the name of the father, let's take a chance
Those boomerang's were in the air so long
No-one'll remember where they came from…"
So the soldiers lined up on the battlefield
And the reporter asked 'em "How do you feel?"
And though I'm standin' in the safety of a Sydney hotel.
If they asked me I'd say "I'm as scared as hell."
Keep 'em dumb and keep 'em down.
We want no politics in this town.
This is a story of two books without end.
The last two words on the last pages are "Start Again!"
A barrel of oil equals how many lives?
A barrel of oil equals how many lives?
Keep 'em dumb and keep 'em down.
We want no politics in this town.
I sing this song to the boys and girls
Do you like your life? Do you like your world?
Are you thinkin' 'bout eyelashes?
Keep on thinkin' 'bout curls?
Keep on thinkin' 'bout eyelashes… and curls… and curls
Keep 'em dumb and keep 'em down.
We want no politics in this town.
This is a story that has no end
When you reach the finish, you simply start again.
